This workshop will be taught virtually through Pocosin Arts on Zoom’s video platform. You will have access to recordings for 45 days after the workshop ends and between workshop sessions.

In this fast-paced workshop, students will explore the fundamentals of die forming with a hydraulic press to create hollow three-dimensional forms. Learn how to use commercially available silhouette dies and how to make your own custom two-sided dies! We’ll cover soldering techniques for hollow forms and for joining small and large metal pieces. The workshop also explores combining the press with soldering, sawing, and other metalsmithing methods to create more complex 3D forms.

Students should be comfortable with basic sawing and filing processes.
